It is possible anyone familiar with Ishgard might have known of her as the black mage Lieutroix, a young, aggressive mercenary at the time who was famous (along with a few others) in picking the most dangerous jobs available that could pay most handsomely.Ondine is practiced not just as a Black Mage, but also a healer. First having studied as a Scholar, and in more recent years as a Sage. That is not her claim to medical 'fame', however. She is of a most steady hand and favours practical methods of healing, and has done well for herself as someone on retainer with the Grand Companies to heal what cannot be rectified with simple magics from all major cities, performing appendectomies, assisting with birthing, and more.More than her mending physical wounds, however, Ondine's specialty has always been in the mind and its memories, using a hybrid of practical psychology and magic to help those in the most desperate of need. After 'retiring' from her Black Magic, she was made more well-known for this, particularly in the Brume where she offered her work for free.Ondine is now known as one of the Medical Officers for the Free Company FATE, working to keep their infirmary in top quality condition at all times.
